My teaching philosophy:

Music is in all of us.

Whether we sing, dance, play an instrument, or just enjoy listening - we’re all part of the musical landscape. I believe with determination, a non-judgemental environment, an explorative mindset, and patience everyone can learn an instrument.

  • Master’s Degree in Guitar from University of North Carolina School of the Arts (Classical and Jazz - 2021)

  • Second Undergraduate Degree in Jazz Studies and Jazz Guitar from North Carolina Central University (2017)

  • Certified Suzuki Guitar Instructor Suzuki Association of The Americas

  • Undergraduate Degree in Classical Guitar from University of North Carolina School of the Arts (2006)

  • High School Diploma in Classical Guitar from University of North Carolina School of the Arts (2002)

Instruments and Subjects I teach:

Classical Guitar, Jazz Guitar, Acoustic Guitar (Bluegrass and Fingerstyle), Electric Bass, Double Bass, Rockabilly Slap Bass, Banjo (3-Finger, Clawhammer, Melodic, and Fingerstyle), Ukulele, Mandolin, beginning Piano, Music Theory, and Songwriting. I have over twenty years of teaching experience with the young and young at heart.
